History of the Assemblies of God in Brazil

With one of the worldŐs largest Pentecostal constituencies, the Brazilian Assemblies of God is active and growing. The year 2000 marks a special time in Brazil, as it is the 90th anniversary of the Brazilian Assemblies of God. Regional celebrations of several thousand people each are being held throughout the year.

Education and discipleship is a priority for the Assemblies of God. Ministers are trained at day and night Bible schools in various parts of the country. The Brazilian Extension School of Theology offers local Bible training courses to pastors who cannot attend residential Bible school.

ChildrenŐs ministry is also very important in Brazil. Children of Brazil Outreach (COBO), a function of Bernhard Johnson Ministries, provides thousands of children with and education, medical attention, a daily meal, and gospel training. COBO also provides Bible training classes in many public schools.
