History
of the Assemblies of God in Croatia
Pentecostal churches began to emerge
in Croatia in the 1930Ős but were heavily restricted during World
War II. After the war, these churches saw their growth resume and
in 1954 the Pentecostal churches were organized as the "Christ
Pentecostal Church" and began to expand but they faced many
difficulties under Communist rule.
In 1989, the "Christ Pentecostal
Church" was reorganized as the Evangelical Church in Croatia
and is now the leading denomination in that country. The church
publishes the largest evangelical magazine in Croatia as well as
a childŐs magazine. There is also an interdenominational womanŐs
magazine that they publish.
