History
of the Assemblies of God in Switzerland
Starting in 1911, more and more people
experienced the Pentecostal blessing and from then on, Pentecostal
churches began to meet. The Swiss Pentecostal Mission was the first
Pentecostal movement connected to the spiritual outpourings and
in 1985 it counted 4,800 members.
The Church for First Century Christianity
was connected with the Apostolic church. Since 1959 they have had
their own short term Bible school. In 1985 there were 75 churches
and 2,600 members.
The Free Christian Fellowship started
with revival meetings around 1920 and was supported by Swedish missionaries.
In 1985 there were 20 churches and 1,300 members.
Association of the Swiss Pentecostal
Free Churches was created in 1974 and was born out of a meeting
of all the full-time ministers of the Pentecostal churches that
met once a year.
