Letter from General Superintendent
Thomas E. Trask
Dear Fellow Minister:
One of the most important events in the history of our Fellowship
will take place August 7-10, 2000, at the RCA Dome in Indianapolis.
I'm referring to the 3rd Triennial World Assemblies of God Congress
and 2000 Celebration.
For the first time ever, the worldwide Assemblies of God family
will convene here in North America. This unprecedented gathering
of foreign representatives, missionaries, ministers, and laity from
our churches will provide a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for us
to collectively seek God's face, believe Him for a fresh outpouring
of the Holy Spirit as we enter the 21st century, and hear from heaven
as a family.
I can't tell you how strongly I feel about each of our ministers
being present for this sacred gathering. I sense a tremendous urgency
for the worldwide Assemblies of God family to come together to hear
from God. The Great Commission has not been fulfilled. Frankly,
while the Kingdom is advancing globally, the rate of growth here
in the United States has not kept pace. It is imperative that we
get a fresh touch from God.
The 3rd Triennial World Assemblies of God Congress opens August
7 and 8. The 2000 Celebration begins the night of August 8. We are
coming together in celebration, intercession, and anticipation of
meeting God. The power-packed program will feature enthusiastic
Pentecostal worship, inspired music, drama, and brief messages from
anointed worldwide Assemblies of God speakers. Most of all, it will
include times of prayer and waiting on God around the altars.
This is not just a clergy event, but a time for the entire Assemblies
of God family to gather. It is my hope that teenagers, senior adults,
Sunday school teachers, church boards, families - in short every
church member, will join us in Indianapolis. I believe each one
who attends will have a life-changing experience with God.
Please make this sacred gathering a matter of daily prayer. Then
plan to attend and join with the family as it meets. I look forward
to seeing YOU in Indianapolis.
Sincerely in Christ,
Thomas E. Trask
General Superintendent
