Dan Betzer, senior pastor of First Assembly of God in Fort
Myers, Florida, is known for his excellence in religious broadcasting
and is still recognized as the voice of the Assemblies of
God from his 17 years of work on the international radio program,
Revivaltime.
Betzer has clearly dedicated his broadcasting skills to sharing
the gospel. He has been announcer, newscaster, Associated
Press reporter, soloist, speaker, director, and producer of
not only radio and TV but also film and multimedia programs.
Having begun at age 3 as a "regular" on a childŐs radio program,
Betzer has over four decades of experience in the media.During
his high school days, he could be heard on the local radio
stations in his hometown. In college he began to write and
broadcast news, and was a writer for the Associated Press.
A graduate of North Central Bible College with a degree in
Pastoral Studies, Betzer spent 10 years in the news business
before going into the ministry. And even in the ministry,
he kept active in radio and television, hosting a nightly
TV show and a late Sunday-night radio program. Betzer was
known as a singer long before becoming a preacher. To date
he has recorded 15 musical albums and 35 childrenŐs albums,
plus 15 childrenŐs videos. He is also the author of 17 Revivaltime
Sermon Books, several novels, and numerous articles in the
Pentecostal Evangel.
He has traveled to 42 nations of the world producing films
and educational and religious media presentations. Currently,
as the senior pastor of First Assembly of God, Betzer has
led his church in planting three new churches in Florida.
Betzer is now in his seventh year as Assistant District Superintendent
of the Peninsular Florida District of the Assemblies of God,
as well as serving the district as Foreign Missions Director.
Betzer is also the non-resident Executive Presbyter of the
Assemblies of God from the southeast region.
Betzer and his wife Darlene have four grown children.
