Assistant
General Superintendent, Assemblies of God, USA
Charles Crabtree, assistant general superintendent of the
Assemblies of God, has served in his current position since
November of 1993. As assistant general superintendent, Crabtree
is a member of the Board of Administration and the Executive
Presbytery.
Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, Crabtree was raised
in Bangor, Maine and then went on to graduate from Central
Bible College in Springfield, Mo. He has also received an
honorary Doctorate of Divinity from Northwest College of the
Assemblies of God.
Crabtree has also pastored two leading Assemblies of God
churches during his ministry. In 1963 he was elected pastor
of First Assembly of God, Des Moines, Iowa, and in 1974 assumed
the pastorate of Bethel Church in San Jose, Calif.
For six years prior to his current position, he served the
church as the director of the Decade of Harvest. This was
an aggressive evangelism effort by the Assemblies of God in
the 1990's to win souls to Christ and establish new churches.

administration, and pastoral theology, such as This I Believe,
The Contemporary Pastor, and Planning for Victory.
He has also written numerous articles that appear regularly
in the Pentecostal Evangel and other similar denominational
periodicals.
