Hector
Hunter
General
Superintendent, Assemblies of God, Cuba
General superintendent of the Assemblies of God in Cuba,
Rev. Hector Hunter, knew he wanted to remain at home to minister
when he was only 17 years old. Now, after 28 years of various
leadership roles for the church, he has seen the Assemblies
of God establish 325 places of worship and nearly 2,000 house
churches in his country. He is actively helping to lead the
spiritual movement, as the Assemblies of God is the largest
congregation on the island.
When his family left for the United States when he was
a teenager, Hunter chose to stay in Cuba and follow the call
of God on his life. He helped the local church in many ways
without any thought to ever becoming a pastor. He served as
president of the youth department and as an evangelist in
the city from the local church. That is when the Lord called
him to the Bible school to study for full-time ministry.
Hunter has pastored four churches in his 28 years of
leadership and has been a member of the executive presbytery.
He was a national leader of the Christs Ambassadors
the national youth department and now is the
general superintendent.
In the last 10 years, Cuba has multiplied
its churches many times. Hunter and the Cuban church continue
to be a blessing to those hurting and in need.
