Shaded
Red
Christian
Band
Jamie and Jonathan Roberts, preacher's kids from Denver,
Colorado, form the core of the Christian alternative band
Shaded Red.
With a ministry mixed with music and evangelism, this young
band is just as passionate about sharing the gospel as they
are about their music. Shaded Red honed their modern, driving,
guitar-based sound together over a period of years. Both brothers
studied music in college, and quickly developed the ability
to play off of one another's intensity. Eventually signing
with Cadence Records in Nashville, Shaded Red released a critically
acclaimed, self-titled debut and promptly took to the road,
touring extensively with the likes of Guardian and Petra.
Not long after their first release, the band members were
involved in a serious car accident while touring, which took
the life of their drummer, Chris Yoeman. The band almost ended
at that point. They cancelled five months of touring and stopped
everything. After months of healing, the band came back with
their second project, Red Revolution, which reveals a more
layered and complex sound musically, and a more mature, soul-searching
introspection lyrically. The new cd has been called one of
the best Christian rock albums of 1999 and has allowed Shaded
Red to reclaim a spot as one of Christian music's top alternative
bands.
