What is the 2000 Celebration? (top)

We will Celebrate God's goodness during this past century of Pentecost, Rejoice in what He is doing through His Holy Spirit in the world today and Renew our commitment to take the gospel to every person, until He comes.

Is this the same as a General Council? (top)
No. General Councils are held every two years for the purpose of conducting the business of the church. While the World Congress will meet to discuss issues affecting World Fellowship, the primary goal is to gather the entire Assemblies of God together at the threshold of the new millennium for a time of celebration, renewal and intercession.
