Parade of Nations and Musical Drama Launch 2000 Celebration
Unprecedented pageantry marked the opening of the 2000 Celebration Tuesday night as Assemblies of God leaders and delegations from 158 countries joined more than 900 missionaries in a "Parade of Nations." A crowd of some 30,000 launched the first worldwide gathering of the Assemblies of God to be held in North America.

The World At Our Doorstep
In times past, the only way to reach most ethnic groups with the gospel was to send missionaries to distant lands. Now millions of people from around the world have become our neighbors. We see them every day at work, at the shopping center, in restaurants, and in schools. Yet, even though the geographical distance has been bridged, the cultural differences have not. They still seem far away. They have become the world at our doorstep.
